FAQ

You've got questions, we've got answers. Consult our FAQ for answers to the most common questions.

1

What does rug cleaning involve?

Rug cleaning involves quite a lot. We subject every rug we treat to a comprehensive process which includes pre-inspection, vacuuming away loose dust particles, gentle washing and rinsing, climate drying, grooming of the rug and combing the fringe, then a final inspection before we return it to you.

How often should I have my rug cleaned?

1.If your rug looks worn or dirty, it probably need a professional clean. As a general rule, rugs should be cleaned every one to three years. However, if your rug is in a high-traffic area, or if you have pets or children, you will definitely want it cleaned more often.

3

Is it worth having my rug appraised?

If it was made before World War II, or has an unusual history, you could consider it. The majority of handmade rugs made post-WWII have a value of about $35 per square foot. Of course, if you rug is valuable, you should definitely have it appraised for insurance purposes.

4

What should I do if I spill something on my rug?

The most critical thing to do is to act fast. Time is of the essence, and the longer you wait before doing something, the more likely that the stain will set in. Take a clean cloth and put some blub soda on it, then dab at the area lightly. Do not scrub...that is guaranteed only to make things worse.
